A memorable second day welcomed the 74 boats entered in the Uniqua Trophy, organised by Circolo Vela Torbole from 3 to 5 June, for the 420 Uniqua Italia class. The wind was not long in coming and allowed the racers to get out on the water on time and the Committee to make up for the race that was not run yesterday by the second battery, followed by three more races.

This brings the total number of races to five and allows the racers to discard the worst race.

The classification is led by Leonardo Centuori and Nicolò Coslovich ( 4-16-1-3) with a net of 9 points. A few points behind them are Alessio Castellan and Jan Bassi (4-5-1--14) who move up the ranking thanks to the two races won today. Close the podium, with a net of 18 points, the undisputed leaders of the national ranking Luca Taglialegne and Silvia Versolatto (1-8-4-5-8) who, compared to the other three trials of the Italian Cup, here in Torbole are struggling to find a good rhythm.

First among the women's crews and 7th in the general classification were Camilla Michielini and Margherita Bonifaccio, bearers of the LNI Mandello del Lario club. Michielini and Bonifaccio are ahead of the second women, Carolina Terzi and Viola Gentili, by twenty points. Third were Camilla Ivaldi and Flavia Maltagliati.

 The Uniqua Trophy is valid as a selection for the World Championship, hosted by Hungary, and up for grabs at this regatta are the last two tickets, which will only be snatched by those who dominate their respective categories, male and female.

Tomorrow is the last day of racing, where the Committee will push for the last four races to be held. Afterwards, the winners will be crowned on the terrace of Circolo Vela Torbole, in the beautiful setting of Alto Garda.
