The wind picked up for the last day of the Uniqua Trophy 2022, organized flawlessly by Circolo Vela Torbole

Torbole, Lake Garda, 5 June 2022

The Uniqua Trophy, an event organised by Circolo Vela Torbole from 3 to 5 June 2022, comes to an end. The event involved 74 boats in the 420 class, a truly high number of boats, which marks the excellent state of health and competitiveness of the class, and thanks to everyone's cooperation it ended in the best possible way, satisfying everyone present. Eight of the nine races on the programme were completed and the wind, today around twenty knots, did not take long to arrive and allowed the athletes to give their best, with exciting starts and races, all fought until the last finish line. A real spectacle for the eyes of spectators both on the water and online.

The winners were the bearers of the Società Nautica Pietas Julia, Leonardo Centuori and Nicolò Coslovich (4-16-1-3-29-2) who, with a net score of 30 points, took home the gold medal, putting the bow ahead of Alessio Castellan and Jan Bassi from Trieste (4-5-1-14-31-11-1). The podium remains unchanged from yesterday with Luca Taglialegne and Silvia Versolatto (1-8-4-5-8-5-14-9), who today recovered important points on Castellan-Bassi, without however being able to grab the silver medal.

Here is Centuori-Coslovich's comment: "It was an intense regatta, very nice, we managed the race well, especially today. We finish the regatta first, we are very satisfied."

Snatching the last two passes for the prestigious World Championship in Hungary were Edoardo Bocale and Tommaso Molinari of the Circolo Velico Ravennate and Camilla Ivaldi- Flavia Maltagliati. The World Championship will be hosted on Lake Balaton from 5 to 13 August 2022.

Bocale-Maltagliati: "It was very difficult. There were many crews vying for the World Championship and it was all very open, in the end we made it and we are really very happy with our result."

The competition was a real success and thanks again to all the racers, coaches, Club staff and volunteers who made this excellent outcome possible. The rankings can be found on Racing Rules of Sailing.
